About Us

Buffy Snider

CEO and Co-Founder, Buffy has a varied background in technology and education. She has a degree in Middle School Education, and has spent the past 13 years working in a wide variety of companies as a Technical Trainer, Technical Writer and Curriculum Consultant.

Photography:

Buffy has been interested in photography since High School. For her, photography and travel have always gone hand in hand. Starting with a year-long stay in Finland and a trip to Russia in her Junior year of High School, to her 2008 photo safari to South Africa and Swaziland. Her favorite location to shoot is Hawaii, where she averages 1000 pictures for each week-long trip. Buffy primarily uses a Nikon D60 and CoolPix, but also enjoys taking film pictures with her Minolta SLR.

Buffy is hoping to take Bear and Bee Creations international again soon with a trip to Central Mexico, and to visit the last state on her US tour – Alaska. And of course there will be many, many pictures taken on Buffy and Mike’s honeymoon in Hawaii next spring!

Web Design/Marketing/Event Planning:

Always interested in pulling off the perfect event, Buffy has taught herself the art of Event Planning. She produced the 2007 Western Regional Conference for The Association for Experiential Education, which was their most successful conference to date. For this event, Buffy created a website and marketing materials, managed communications, assembled speakers and entertainment, and much more!

Buffy has also planned and produced her 15th and 20th High School Reunions. This included all facets of planning multiple events, as well as creating a website and managing communications.

Michael Caruso

CTO and Co-Founder, Michael has been interested in art and technology since early childhood. He began drawing at 7 and got his first computer at 10 years old and has spent his life exploring and balancing the creative and technical sides of his nature.

Software/Web Design:

Having completed his Computer Science degree in 1995, Michael has spent his career developing software for a variety of companies. During that time he began working on web sites as a creative outlet and to stay current with those technologies. He has developed a number of sites for various small businesses and provided several features and a CSS facelift for an intranet portal for a major pharmaceutical company.

Photography:

It was in High School that Michael took his first photography class. He then went on to serve as staff photographer on college newspapers, gaining experience with the camera and in the darkroom, but his real interest lay in capturing nature through the lens.

His early works centered in New Jersey where he grew up, then spread through New England and south to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Since moving to Colorado 12 years ago, he has become an avid photographer of the Rocky Mountains and Southwest.  Recently he has been exploring abroad with trips to Mexico and Costa Rica.

Michael primarily uses a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and Powershot 200.  He started in film work using a Pentax K-1000 and, more recently, a Canon EOS Rebel SLR. He is looking forward to more travels in the coming year with Buffy, capturing more beautiful locations as he goes.
